Biography
Experienced Hospital Consultant in Front Door Frailty, Peri-Operative Medicine and Frailty Trauma. Newly appointed Deputy Medical Director at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, providing medical leadership in Planned Care, Clinical Strategy, Quality and Health Equity. Associate Medical Director at North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) for 7 years. Trust Medical Lead for Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. Patient Safety Specialist. West of England Academic Health and Science Network Patient Safety Collaborative Board Member. I have a Master of Science with distinction, in Leadership in Healthcare (Quality Improvement) awarded by Ashridge Executive Education and am a Health Foundation Fellow. In NBT I led a team who supported local, organisational and System change to achieve safe, high quality care, patient experience and outcomes within our hospital and in our local population. I work collaboratively, engaging a range of stakeholders to bring diversity in thinking around an issue, enabling the conditions for them to understand what really matters and coaching them to use Quality Improvement methods to develop their ideas into programmes with measureable impact. I am developing my area of interest, in using Quality Improvement approaches to reduce health inequity.
Outside of work I am a keen runner and as part of my running community, This Mum Runs, I have coached women who want to get back into being active, healthy and happy.
I am also on a journey to becoming a Women’s Leadership coach and have completed an ICF accredited coaching qualification with 50 hours of coaching delivered so far.
