Appreciative Inquiry: Q Visit to Prostate Cancer UK (CPD certified)

This was a half-day study day to learn about the principles and framework for Appreciative Inquiry (AI) through an interactive workshop and through discussion with staff from Prostate Cancer UK. Q members then learnt how to use this AI approach, and to reflect on how AI could provide an alternative method for delivering quality improvement. They also had an opportunity to understand the growing role of the voluntary sector in improving care for patients.

South West Q Community Masterclass: Coaching, Mentoring and Positively Supporting Others with Improvement

The South West Academic Health Science Network (SW AHSN) is holding its second regional event to bring together the new members of Q. This event will continue to develop ideas and thinking, based around the core themes of Engage-Connect-Commit from the successful ‘Welcome to Q’ event. The day will be shaped around some of the key elements in the Health Foundation’s Q Compact. This document sets out the expectations of Q members, along with feedback from improvers which states one area to focus on developing, refreshing and enhancing skills and understanding is in ‘Coaching, Mentoring and Positively Supporting Others with Improvement’.
