Biography
Karen has 10 years of Board level experience and a career that covers the statutory, charitable, and independent sector. As Deputy CEO for Scottish Care, she is shaping the future of social care exploring areas such as new models of care and support, technology, commissioning, and integration. A champion for participation and co-production, she believes that change should be measured by the difference it makes for people. Member of IOD, FRSA, and Unfunded List Committee. When she is not working, the ‘Ayrshire lass’ can be found on the beach with her family, letting the good sea breeze blow away the cobwebs.

Collaborative transformation of care at home provision in Dumfries & Galloway
The D&G Care at Home Collaborative, involving 10 independent provider partners, DGHSCP and Scottish Care, is seeking a step change in approaches to meet the needs of people waiting for care.
Digital support hub integration
The idea is to link the resource of a Digital Support Hub and additional telecare/telemedicine devices to an NHS Endowments Project (Hospital Homecoming project) preventing readmission of patients to hospital.
