Biography
Mr Michael Okocha, BSc (Hons), MBBS, MSc, MRCS, MAcadMEd is a General Surgery Trainee based in the Southwest (Severn Deanery). In 2019 he created and chaired the QI Southwest Conference. He was West of England AHSN Patient Safety Champion 2020 and North Bristol NHS Trust Hero Award recipient. He won an international Prize from Association of Surgeons Great Britain and Ireland in 2019, made a member of faculty by the British Burns Association in 2018, was granted Membership of the Academy of Medical Educators in 2016. He is currently an Health Education England Scholarship recipient for the Medical Education Degree at the University of Cambridge. He has authored papers on patient care and wellbeing, and has presented on both the international and national stage. His Masters was in Strategic Leadership and Organisational Design. Michael is passionate about all things QI, Trauma and Medical Education. He can be found at @thetraumasurg or @QISouthwest
