Biography
Hello I'm Laura,
I am currently working in NHS Highland in NMAHP Corporate in the QI team. I've been in this post for 2 years now and really enjoy supporting individuals to further understand their systems and find solutions to their problems. I graduated as a Scottish Improvement Leader in 2023 and also completed the PG Cert QI in Healthcare at the University of the Highlands and Islands. I now teach SIFS for Highland which is something I love doing, this is a foundation skills course following the QI Journey.
I was incredibly lucky to present our work at the International Forum last year in Copenhagen and our team are hoping to return again this year in London to showcase more of our improvement work.
I am a nurse by profession and prior to this post I worked clinically as a Macmillan Community Nurse and prior to that I had specialised in respiratory nursing.
In my spare time I'm a keen gardener and my hopes are one day to own a croft in the Highlands. I love trialling new varieties and seeds to see if they'll survive the Highland conditions, I suppose, very much like QI, it's a journey and there is always learning even if you fail!
