‘Wild Card – Whose Shoes’ podcast series

As an HSJ 100 'Wild Card', I was 'apparently' someone NHS CEO Amanda Pritchard should listen to. But I decided she'd prefer walking in the shoes of more interesting people. People rocking it across healthcare QI. So I got chatting to them. 🍋🍋🍋 Podcast by Gill Phillips @WhoseShoes - and friends. https://whoseshoes.buzzsprout.com

NHS leaders talk a lot about wanting to hear more ‘lived experience stories’ – well, here they are! Welcome to ‘Wild Card – Whose Shoes!’
Walking in the shoes of more interesting people. 😉

Building on my inclusion in the Health Services Journal ‘Wild Cards’, part of #HSJ100, and particularly the shoutout for ‘improving care for some of the most vulnerable in society through co-production’, I was inspired to set up this podcast to chat to a really diverse group of people, providing a platform for them to speak about their experiences and opinions.

I have so far published 50 episodes talking to some wonderful movers and shakers in health care who have often used their own lived and learnt experience to spot gaps or anomalies in the system and who go on to do something about it – something amazing to help others!

As the creator of Whose Shoes, a popular approach to coproduction, I am known for having an amazing network, many of whom I have met or stay in touch with through the Q Community. It is a privilege to be able to tap into this and give a platform to lots of different voices. Some represent more ‘formal’ power and will be well known but the majority are deliberately selected as wonderful individuals whose stories need to be heard. They are full of humanity and ‘lemon lightbulbs’ you will enjoy and be inspired by.

Topics range from from maternity to dementia; disability to community activism;  clinical education to storytelling – and much, much more.   If you are interested in the future of health and social care and like to hear what other people think, or perhaps even contribute at some point, ‘ Wild Card – Whose Shoes’  is for you!

Find me on Twitter @WhoseShoes and @WildCardWS and dive into the podcast series to find out more! Please share widely and if you possibly can, leave a review.
