12:00 – 13:30

Quality Improvement (QI) coaching is a well understood model for supporting healthcare staff to bring about measurable and sustainable improvements to care quality. Whilst proven to work, establishing and embedding QI coaches in an organisation is often complex and improvers may face resistance to the idea of QI coaching from leaders.

In this workshop we’ll explore the real-term benefits that QI coaching brings by focusing on the different groups involved in the process; the organisation itself, the teams receiving coaching, the coach and the patients/public we all serve. To support and guide our exploration, we will draw on published, evidence-based resources and case studies.

The workshop is hosted by the Coaching Improvement Special Interest Group and convened by Sophia Mody, Kerry Blewitt and Sid Beech.
