Find out more

At the Point of Care Foundation our vision is the radical improvement in the way we care and are cared for; because understanding and responding to the needs of all people is what delivers the highest quality care and is only possible if those delivering care get the practical and emotional support they need. QI underpins the Point of Care Foundation’s core programmes.

Why Point of Care Foundation?

Point of Care Foundation believe high-quality, humanised health and care is compassionate towards patients and their families, and stems from compassion among staff. However humanising care often requires cultural change within organisations. Organisational culture affects relationships between staff and managers, as well as between staff and patients.

They work to develop the culture of health and care organisations through all their programmes.

Improving care quality is at the heart of what Point of Care Foundation do. Their QI interventions, which operate through their Patient Experience programme, focus on patients and are driven by developing truly patient-centred care.

They offer training in proven methodologies such as Experience-Based Co-Design (EBCD), and bespoke programmes for healthcare teams based on EBCD and Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC) as well as providing formal qualifications for Patient Experience professionals.

What will I experience?

During this in-person Visit to the Point of Care Foundation, you will have the chance to:

  • Experience a Schwartz Round – Schwartz Rounds provide a structured forum where all staff, clinical and non-clinical, come together regularly to discuss the emotional and social aspects of working in healthcare.
  • Use storytelling in healthcare improvement
  • Sample our experience-based co-design offer
  • Workshop on challenging conversations
