People, sectors and organisations who share a common vision with a diversity of ideas and expertise between them can achieve much more working together than they can working alone. Yet working across sectors can sometimes be a challenge.
The voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE) is underrepresented in the ICSs. They often feel unheard in the ICBs and like they don’t have an actual role. This session looked at how these sectors can work together to improve outcomes and integration. The conversation may be particularly useful in bringing the VCSE sector closer to the role they need to play in health and care.
Using Liberating Structures’ TRIZ and Jamboards attendees worked in smaller groups to surface issues and counterproductive behaviours that stop us from working together effectively. TRIZ helps to clear space for innovation by inviting creative destruction. It is a LS ‘fan favourite’ and a fun and safe way to have more honest, courageous conversations and begin to co-create solutions. More on TRIZ here.
This session was for:
- Those working in QI and integration, keen to learn from the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors’ solutions to health & care challenges.
- Those working in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors, keen to be included and represented in the ICSs.
- Those eager to enable successful collaborations across these sectors
- Network weavers and system conveners
- Those interested in people-centred care
The session also raised awareness of a newly-created suite of resources and collaboration tools, created by the Q Community, to nurture networks and leaders.
Hosted by Pete Donnelly, convener of the Third Sector SIG and Hilda Campbell, convener of the Nurturing and Weaving Networks SIG.
