We welcomed Kate Riddle and her team from Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust to this online discussion of our Special Interest Group on community hospitals. Their response to the pandemic was to create a new clinical and management system that has proved to be beneficial for patients, the service, and the local health and social care system. It has enabled the community hospitals to play a full part in managing demand during the pandemic and shown the vital importance of their role. There is much to learn from the leadership model and the offering of a 7-day service.
