Hi Carole, welcome. Tell us alittle about yourself.
Hello everyone – I’ve just joined the Q Community and am looking forward to some interesting discussions and learning!
I spent 30 or so years working in various Government Departments before joining the Worcestershire Association of Carers in 2011. This charity supports unpaid carers, and we work at the interface of health and social care (often trying to help people understand how the system works so they can understand it and access support). As more care is delivered at home or closer to home, the impact on carers can be significant, so I’d be interested in thinking how this might work in the future.
Welcome Carol. Are you looking at how you move the charity onto a next stage basis and how that might deliver better support to carers?
Hi Matthew. We’re working on various fronts – ensuring that a ‘think carer’ approach is adopted across health and social care systems in our area, improving the services we deliver directly to carers and also looking at developing and embedding social prescribing in the county. Keeps me busy!
