How do you create strategic alignment across a multinational workforce of over 70,000 people? How can your strategy show connections between staff, from the front line to the CEO? How can you use the strategy process to foster a culture of transparency and accountability? These are the questions we will be exploring at this Visit with Salesforce, who are known worldwide for their unique V2MOM strategy process. This is Q’s first Visit dedicated to looking at how organisations create strategy.

You will also have the chance to hear how other participants approach developing their strategies, and to explore how you could apply the Salesforce approach to your own context.

This Visit may be particularly relevant for you if you are working to create strategic alignment across partnerships, developing strategy for your team or organisation, or considering how to balance strategic alignment with staff-led improvement work.

You can attend the Visit in-person in central London or online via Zoom. Both options are open to both Q members and non-Q members.

Why Salesforce?

Salesforce is a global leader in customer relationship management (CRM) and is renowned for its innovative cloud-based solutions that enhance business operations and customer engagement.

The scale and complexity of their organisation makes their focus on alignment across all employees around a core vision and set of goals particularly interesting, and relevant to health and care organisations working across complex partnerships and leading large teams of people.

What will I experience?

During this Visit, you will:

  • Hear how Salesforce approaches its strategy process, and how it engages staff so that the entire organisation is aligned to a core vision and set of objectives
  • Explore how their strategy process helps them respond to and identity improvements, and how they approach continuous improvement within the organisation
  • Hear about how they use their strategy process to create a culture of visibility and transparency around individual objectives
  • Hear from staff in different teams about how they engage with the strategy process, and what they have learnt along the way.
What will I experience at the in-person Visit?

There will be a mixture of presentations and talks, opportunities for you discuss your work in small groups and opportunities to ask questions to the speakers. Lunch will be provided and you’ll have time to network with other attendees. You will have time after lunch to reflect on your learning.

What will I experience at the online Visit?

There will be a mixture of presentations and talks, and opportunities for you to discuss your work in smaller breakout groups on Zoom. The online Visit will have slightly different activities to make better use of the online space and will finish earlier when the in-person group go for lunch.
