I am a nurse consultant for the Alcohol Care Team at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and an honorary research fellow in the Institute of Translational Medicine at the University of Liverpool.
I am passionate championing the unique skills of nursing that contribute to, and enhance medical interventions and treatments to improve not only the patient journey but clinical outcomes
I am a board member for the Liverpool Centre for Alcohol Research. I was a member of the development group for NICE clinical guideline CG100 and PH24, and am currently a member of Public health England Alcohol Expert group.
In Liverpool we have pioneered the development of nurse-led and consultant led pathways for alcohol-related liver disease, alcohol related brain injury and many of the co-morbid conditions effecting our patients.
