Kevin started his nurse training in 1996 at the Nightingale Institute, having previously studied Microbiology and Microbial Technology at Warwick. After registering he gained experience in a cardiothoracic unit, then specialised in general intensive care, setting up a Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit at UCLH in 2009. In 2015 he undertook a Darzi Fellowship, which led to further clinical and quality improvement experience in patient safety, focussed on falls prevention. Currently he is a member of the national Strategy Team at NHS England involved in joint working with the DWP on Health and Work. He loves gardening and is increasingly interested in developing his local community, bringing his OD knowledge to the functioning of community groups, particularly taking on underloved green spaces and tackling issues affecting his neighbour's health right there on the ground, from the ground up. He plays the double bass enthusiastically but badly.
