Hi Joe
I know of an Acute Trust that built a custom OOH call system that prioritised calls based on responses to branching questions. This was in response to exactly the problem you describe. If you are interested, then I might be able to put you in touch with the lead for the work. It might be something that you could steal and/or adapt.

Hi Richard
The most engaging measurement activity I have taken part in during a QI training session involved making paper aeroplanes and measuring flight distance. Doesn’t generate a huge amount of data but teaches on sources of and reducing variation and generates a very simple SPC chart with a shift.
