  • Hi all!

I lead on the design and delivery of a QI training and development programme locally – our “QI Fellowship Programme” which is open to up to 6 local health and social care professionals annually. We have a great “core QI” training package procured from a local improvement partner on Improvement Science and Measurement for Improvement, but we recognise that QI is a really wide skillset with lots of complementary knowledge and skills and so we’re keen to bring a diverse spread of topics and fresh knowledge to the mix.  We utilise internal expertise to add sessions on things like Evaluation for QI, Scale up and Spread, developing conference posters etc, but also really value the additional networking opportunities for our Fellows that comes from linking in with external sources.  In this current climate of ever tighter budgets, we are really limited in what we can bring in externally though. So I wondered if any members who also provide training for their staff and teams would be interested in a “training exchange” at all? For example we would be happy to open up spots on relevant training sessions and masterclasses that we provide ourselves, in the hope that there are others out there who might be able to offer similar? If there’s a few of us willing to share in this manner it could be a really effective and efficient way for us to leverage our networks

    • Hello Nadine

Thanks for joining the SIG also for your great offer, it really makes sense. I wonder are you also linked to Hexitime https://hexitime.com/

”Hexitime. The digital marketplace where users trade expertise with a time currency. Supporting business effectiveness through timely knowledge sharing and collaboration”

Depending on what you are seeking, I would be happy to chat about the offer I could make around the perspective of improvement led by communities and the voices of lived experience. (it would need to be an online session) My direct email is hilda@cope-scotland.org This would be without obligation of offering anything in return

Hoping you get a good response,
      Kind regards
      Hilda

      • Hi Hilda,

Many thanks for your reply. I am registered on Hexitime, but it feels like that is more of a personal skills exchange platform. That’s something I’m very happy to do, but in his instance I was thinking more of the group training sessions that we put on. We will be doing these anyway and could easily accommodate a few additional attendees, and others may be in the same position too?

I will certainly email you to follow up on a chat though, that would be great thank you

        Kind regards

        Nadine

    • Hi Nadine

There was a part of me when I suggested Hexitime was thinking, it is usually more one to one, but I think there is potential in there (its how to create that) for wider skills share. What you are suggesting makes sense, there are so many fellowship programmes in different parts of the UK and Ireland finding a way to do the training exchange suggested seems a great idea. If you don’t mind, I will send on your request to a couple of colleagues I know, just to see if there was a way to help each other as I suspect there are many bodies in the same situation

      kind regards
      Hilda

      • Hi Hilda,

Of course, please do share to any networks you think may be interested. We often work in silos and re-invent the wheel a little in healthcare, so any traction on the notion of how we can better share our knowledge and skills would be most welcomed!

        Kind regards

        Nadine

    • That sounds like a great offer, Nadine 🙂

In addition to what Hilda already replied (honestly, she’s the best person to point you to the right direction), lemme point out that I believe the Coaching Improvement SIG (link below) has a training program and they might be interested in the exchange:

    • Sounds really interesting. I’m delivering training in Scotland with Andy Longmate. I also connect with Jonathan O’Reilly who delivers QI training in his board
