What kind of Sustainable Healthcare conversations do you want to have in 2024?

A gentle reminder to take part in the poll above and/or share your ideas here in the SIG.

    Happy Friday everyone 🙂

    • My idea: I’d like to see sustainability reviews/audits undertaken on a process by process basis. First though the NHS would need to adopt Process Management. This system would make so much difference. All involved with the particular process could have an informed input. I have suggested this previously with a ‘no thanks’ response, nevertheless I think that it’s so important that I’m sugesting it again and will continue to do so.

    • My sense is that the current system is not cut out for the challenges ahead, so I am looking at creative approaches to tackle both the climate and ( interdependent) health crises. If we do more of the same I fear we will get similar outcomes.

To this end I have organised some online conversations to look at the question : Where Do Creativity, Climate and Health intersect? The answer is of course, everywhere. The question is then, how do we share the good things that are already happening? If anyone would like to know more about what we are doing on this I am happy to get in touch.

      • I’d like to know more. My view is that Health, Climate, and Creativity intersect at the ‘process’. The ‘processes’ are what people do in their day to day work. Until we understand that (System Thinking) it will be difficult to do anything but mote of the same. (I have expressed this view many many times within the Q Community)

      • I’d like to know more too Sarah. Can you share a registration link to the online conversations you’re organising? I’m sure many SIG members here would be interested in coming along.

      • Thanks for this Maria ! I Will add the dates – there is one at end of Jan, end of feb and end of March – and the links after Christmas. It’s all present wrapping and beach saunas here.

Best wishes for the festive break,
        Sarah

    • Community engagement seems to be to key whatever we do, otherwise changes made are not sustainable. The second (!) Sustainability QI conference took place this year, and here is a link to their rather fabulous summary document – so many talks here and you can access them all with just a click. Hurray!
