I was thinking about the title and therefore content of this group. Is the focus still on ‘how to set them up’ or is (or could it be) more general updates on progress and issues etc? Just a thought.
For instance, is this article on whether the use of video consultations might impact on recruitment and retention of GPs relevant including the following:

“Many clinicians want greater flexibility in their work and there’s no
doubt that Near Me can help towards
achieving that,” he said. “The ability to
carry out a consultation from wherever you choose, using Near Me, is certainly something that many people find
attractive. The next step, I suppose, is
finding out how that is reflected in
    recruitment and retention.”
    Mr Beswick’s contention backs up
one raised at the Royal College of
    General Practitioners’ 2022 annual
conference held in London from 29th
    June to 1st July.
At the conference, during a discussion on virtual appointments, one GP called for general practice to embrace the transition to digital and do more consultations by video or over the phone. He also suggested that GPs having the ability to work from home could help to solve the staffing crisis in general practice, not least by helping to
ensure doctors had a better work/life balance.”

    • Hi Maimie – that’s a great reflection. I agree the name of this group doesn’t now suit the purpose this group could have. (it was initially set up in March 2020 by the Q team – when setting up video consultations fast was what everyone was trying to do).
I really appreciate the active contribution you make to this group, sharing the learning from your excellent work from Near Me. Would you be interested in speaking to me about a convening role this group? If you (and others) would be interested in taking on a convening role, this opens an option for applying for some funding to strengthen this as a network for sharing learning (e.g. https://q.health.org.uk/get-involved/supporting-q-connections/) – it could perhaps really help to strengthen the opportunities to share and learn with each other.
If you have time for a chat about this, do let me know?
