I agree that the examination of professionals’ health beliefs would be a potentially very fruitful avenue to explore.

  Indeed. I have experienced this first hand whilst working in in-patient psychiatry whilst cross covering the main hospital. “Expert generalists” may be able to help in taking an holistic view.
