  • Hi folks,

Announcing October’s Liberating Structure: Troika Consulting.

We’ll be trying it out together on Thursday 3rd Oct, 12-1pm, facilitated by @joepower and @clareclark

We actually did Troika in the extended meet-up last week so this is an opportunity for those of you who couldn’t make it then and/or have a current work challenge that…Read more

    • We used Troika consulting at a QI Alumni event organised by Healthcare Improvement Scotland and NHS Education Scotland, there were more than 100 people in attendance including colleagues visiting from Ireland and parts of mainland Europe. This rated as one of the most popular activities. It was also a great opportunity to hear of shared challenges…Read more

    • Hi Maria

I think a sense of who 3rd sector colleagues are could be identified via the map Drew is working on. There are so many elements of connecting different groups. Initially my thinking is we look at groups with a similar theme around network weaving and combine them so there are fewer groups but those that are there have a clear focus for…Read more

    • Hi Clare

I hope all is well. That’s great you are up for a chat about this, super, Krishna has reached out to Joriam and Tarnia to share our ideas and see how we can link to wider Q team, I will keep posting in this space any updates. you can also email me directly hildac@copescotland.com
      Have a great day
      Hilda

    • Hi, happy to support discussion in this area. The purpose of my role is to develop partnerships between VCSE/third sector/insert preferred term (!) and the integrated care system that I work in. There’s a lot of good work happening around the country but I’m not sure if members of the third sector group are plugged in. Maria and I were emailing…Read more

      • Hi Sonal

I had suggested just now in another space perhaps looking at a 90min session part of which is sharing examples of where working across sectors is working well and then maybe using some liberating structures/network weaving activities to explore how further work can be built, if enough of us are up for organising this and we all do a wee…Read more

    • Maybe it’s worth getting on a quick call for any initial discussion in the coming weeks? I could set up a doodle to find a time. @hilda-campbell-mbe @clareclark @sonal? and no worries Sonal, I know how it is 😉

    • Sounds like as plan. I think its important to get a sense of the third sector groups within Q and their size. I appreciate the focus on large charities, but they can be impacted by funding/staff absence/delays just the same as smaller ones, but often smaller ones have more direct links into the community through volunteers etc and are less…Read more

  • Hi everyone!

I run a foundation level QI course in Highland and was looking to test out the Agreement & Certainty Matrix with staff on the course, at times people still struggle to choose an improvement project small & within their gift. I’d wondered if perhaps we give this LS a shot, then maybe it would support that visualisation of which…Read more

    • Hi Laura, we recently tried this at one of the meet-ups. @petrabee and @afrakelsall facilitated and I’m sure they’d have tips for you. You can find the slides they used uploaded to ‘Documents’ in this group.

I also remember that @rob-cunney was at that meet-up, he has quite of bit of experience with this structure (and all of them btw!) and…Read more

    • Hi Laura. I would be very happy to talk to you, but with the caveat that I have only ever used this LS as a practice with the special interest group. I found it took some getting my head around, so my advice would be to try to test run it in a safe space using your example, before ‘going live’.

    • Hi Laura,

As Maria mentioned, I’ve used the AC matrix quite a bit, mainly as a way of getting people to think about matching tools to specific types of systems. I’ll see if I can pull out some slides that I’ve used in the past. Some tips and tricks that I’ve found:
      – I find it’s good to spend some time getting people to think about a challenge…Read more

    • Wow thank you guys, I really appreciate this information and all the support/advice – my email is Laura.keel1@nhs.scot and I will spend some time reviewing as you’ve all suggested.

  • Big thanks to those who joined our in-depth ‘plan for your own challenge’ LS workshop today! Do share your thoughts/feedback and what you took away from the workshop in a comment below and/or in this short survey: https://survey.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3IS5ojVsbt81jPE

  • Apologies

I am sorry Kirsten, Lyse, Meera and all. I had planned to join the session today, however, matters require my attention which means I don’t have the 2.5 hours I had set aside to join. I am sorry as I am sure the session would have been great. Sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day!

    • Hi Hilda, sorry you can’t join.

But I’m sure it’s fine if you drop in for 30 mins, 1 hour, anything,.., if you find you can.

People definitely don’t have to stay for the full session. A number will surely find they have to go after an hour, for example….

      Matthew
