    Thanks Claire.
I would highly recommend a listen to this. Practical, encouraging and as always from Scarlett, very good use of research and information.

  • I hope that many of you have read the papers that Sam Moore posted a 9 days ago?

I have just posted a reply to one of the papers and have asked two practical questions on how we can share best practice of psychological interventions amongst ourselves, as well as their effectiveness.

Can I encourage us to consider thinking about this vital aspect…Read more

Thanks for the papers Sam. The one that I was most interested in, as it aligns with some of my current thinking, related to the subject of Psychological Interventions in Prehabilitation.

Of course, we speak often of exercise and nutrition, both of which I recognised as vital to my own experiences when going through successful cancer treatment…Read more

    • Thank you Lawrence for your thoughtful reply and for sharing your own experiences.

I really found this paper interesting for lots of reasons.

There is always marked heterogeneity in any attempt to review prehabilitation trials systematically. Here we have groups of people with different cancers, of different ages, in different states of health.…Read more

Many thanks Chloe for posting this published study.

There is definitely a need, in my mind at least, for an expansion of digital resources to support, motivate and encourage prehab patients as they line up patiently for their ‘turn’. And, dare I say it, for properly explained and understood AI solutions as well (puts in hard hat incase of…Read more

    • Thank you very much Lawrence. Have you seen our poster from EBPOM last year? This focused on patients with a 10% and above risk of respiratory complication and was carried out across all intermediate to major grade surgeries at Cheshire and Merseyside ICS. I’m happy to share to the group if you haven’t seen it…

  • Wishing you all a very peaceful and happy time over the festive season.

  • A warm welcome to those who have recently joined the SIG. We look forward to hearing your views as you share great practice and patient care, through the posts on the forum.

For those who may have missed it, there was a post from Sam Moore a few days ago on an exciting new opportunity to contribute in the form of an online journal club.

    If, like…Read more

  • The CPOC Advisory Group held a thought provoking and in depth webinar on shared decision making yesterday.

The speakers were all experts in their field and spoke from patient perspectives, research and evidence based positions and of course, clinical experience.

Many themes emerged but one point from the webinar hit home for me which I would…Read more
