I am a mental health nurse with a specialist interest in quality improvement with people living with dementia and their family carers / supporters. I have a fabulous work role that spans research, education and the involvement of people with dementia.  I also have family experience of dementia.

I collaborate with the local Alzheimer's Society to organise SHINDIG - this is a forum where people with dementia can share their views and experiences of living with dementia and their experience of services.

My work in the NHS has a focus on exploring ways to enable people with dementia to influence developments in services.  My research interests are focused on life story work and relationship centred approaches to care.  I teach on the University of Sheffield MA in Dementia Studies and on adult pre registration nursing programmes.
