Hello, I’m a member of WHO Patients for Patient Safety Ireland. We would appreciate your input into an application for funding for a Medication Safety app, empowering empower patients to know and understand their medications – one of the WHO recommendations from the WHO for World Patient Safety Day 2022 – theme “Medication Without Harm”. At present there is no app that is free and that stores all data on the patients’ mobile phone, and that meets the WHO requirements, so this app will be of benefit worldwide. It will meet all accessibility guidelines for an app.

In particular, we welcome your comments on the barriers to adoption for the app (of course those who do not have smartphones will not be able to use it) – a paper version is available on the HSE’s Know, Check, Ask initiative.
