In group: Quality Management in Healthcare

Hi,
Lucinda Hollinshead from CLCH and I have been discussing how useful it would be to have a network for people who are working to implement or trying to plan a Quality Management System in their organisation. Something along the lines of a regular meeting plus a space where we can give each other support, share queries and progress. Does anything like that already exist? If not, could we use this group for that purpose? Would anyone else be interested in joining? Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Emma
Emma, This is a great idea. I would be happy to help organise regular Teams meetings for such a group and facilitate discussion. I have organised two webinars on quality management, details on a previous post. We could also do an in person meeting if enough people are interested. It is really important to understand the basic principles when setting up a QMS. Getting this right can save so much trouble later on or even the failure of the project altogether I hope that members of this SIG will post there interest here..
Hi Emma and Thomas, I would be interested in joining a regular catch up. Many thanks Jonty.
Excellent news, certainly interested in joining
Lovely to see this action here!
Whenever you folks figure out a good rhythm — or even if you just wanna have a first call just to talk about it and make some first decisions, let me know (joriam@enspiral.com) and I’ll help you set it up 🙂 @emmastinton @thomasjohnrose @jonty-yazbek @simondallas
(also, you folks should really join the workshop Tom mentioned above! Here’s the link: https://q.health.org.uk/event/what-is-quality-part-one/ )
all signed up for workshop
Hi Emma,
I work in Pathology where we are accredited to ISO 15189:2012 which includes requirement for a robust Quality Management System, so happy to also help with ideas, but obviously ours is very lab-heavy.
Emma
Hi it Mary, please count me in. I’m attempting to develop QMS at “place” wi so would find this super helpful to share ideas and practical ways to implement and further understand that”good” look like.
Bw Mary
Hi Emma,
I would be interested in joining the conversation. I have been involved in the design and build of a QMS and preparations for implementing ISO 9001:2015 in previous work on accreditation for hospitals. So looking forward to what ideas can be exchanged with those who have implemented a QMS and those planning to do this.
It’s great to see that there’s interest in sharing progress and supporting each other. It sounds like a good first step would be to meet and work out the best way to facilitate this. I’ll set something up for the week of 15th June and post the MS Teams link to join the meeting here (unless anyone can think of a better way for me to invite you all!) Hopefully that will give everyone enough notice to make it.
Emma
Hi,
Booked for 10-11am on 15th June. Here’s the meeting link (apologies this is the only way it allowed me to paste it!) I’ll invite those of you who I know and have expressed an interest directly. Please let me know your e mail address if you’d prefer an invite to be sent (I’m at emma.stinton@nhs.net). Please also feel free to pass the invite on to anyone who you think may want to attend. We can use this first session to discuss what people would like to get out of the network and how it could work best.
