Q welcomes new recruits to consensus-building research as it reaches crucial stage

There’s just one week left to help shape the co-created definition Q will use to develop a new measure for good staff engagement in major change.

Q members, and others interested in improving staff engagement in the context of service and workforce pressures, have already shared rich ideas and personal perspectives. Now Q is seeking participants to rank and comment on these ideas – including those who haven’t been involved in the research so far.

Henry Cann, lead researcher for the project, says:

‘The goal is to ensure change development and implementation is done collaboratively. Ultimately, we want to improve staff experience and patient outcomes.

We plan to turn our new co-produced definition of good staff engagement into usable measures, that can be used when thinking about and implementing change.

None of this is to deny the hugely challenging service and workforce pressures. But it is to emphasise the need to find new and better ways of doing staff engagement to adapt to the new context.’

Q wants leaders and others to use the final measurement approach in their everyday work but needs the help of the improvement community to make the research a success. Q is working with colleagues at THIS Institute and Thiscovery on the project.

Taking part is easy, register on Thiscovery’s site to rank and comment on others’ ideas so far. It should take no more than 20 minutes.
