We are! As many of you may know, we have recently had funding approval to set up a Q Improvement Lab early next year.

We first tested the idea of setting up a Lab with members in November 2015; running a mini prototype during one of the Q design events. There was so much interest we knew we should take the idea further, and began scoping in 2016.

birmingham-workshop-eventSince then the Lab team have been working with Q members and others involved in social design and innovation, to develop the proposal for the first ever Q Improvement Lab.

During the summer we worked with Q member volunteers in a series of one day workshops in London, Birmingham and York. We ran small design activities to test how the Lab could work and best meet the needs of the community.

The enthusiasm, support and challenge from Q members was vital to advancing our emerging ideas for the Lab – and ultimately played a big part in getting the idea funded.

We hope to work with as many Q members as possible to choose a topic for the first Lab project

In the new year we hope to work with as many Q members as possible to choose a topic for the first Lab project. We hope to find a topic that is a priority for many across the system and that could benefit from the collaborative and experimental problem solving approaches that the Lab will support. We will post more information on the website nearer the time.

We look forward to starting this process with you.
