The webinar wasn’t up to much anyway so you didn’t miss anything. Anyway here is a bit on the PACA (PDSA) cycle. It’s part of Continuous Improvement (CI) not QI. Not no mention of improvement science or a lengthy report. See: …Read more

Hi Tom
I am sorry turnout for the webinar was not what you had hoped. I don’t think it would have been the topic just that it feels just now that people are finding it harder and harder to create the space for the learning and reflection that can make the work not so time consuming. Maybe that is worthy of a cross group discussion in its own…Read more-
Thanks Hilda. 100 odd registered and 50 odd logged on so it was not too bad. No many from the Q Community though. I did find that a bit disappointing. Some good feedback and further/ongoing discussions though.

Wow over a 100 registered shows the level of interest and around 50 logged on which is usual, around 50% people attend, that’s a lot, celebrate what was achieved. I am hopeful that the new site may make it easier for people to know what is happening and how to get involved. 50 people coming and good feedback and ongoing discussions that to me is a…Read more

It involves obtaining visibility into processes, collecting and analyzing relevant data, understanding how these processes function, and using this knowledge to identify areas for improvement. This approach…Read more-
Thank you Thomas, very helpful indeed.
Process Illiteracy seems to be the starting point in many organisations, so there is a lot of room for improvement.

Thanks Mark. Do you know of any German hospitals that are implementing the standard? Yes ‘process’ is the starting point for the resolution of many important issues in the NHS. My next Q webinar will be all about ‘process’. No date fixed yet, maybe December/January.

Hi Thomas. Living in Switzerland I do not know much about the situation in Germany. Here I am working at the other end of the Health System, supporting mainly elderly patients and their relatives to cope with inefficient, sometimes inexistent cooperation between a multitude of players within the Health System. Therefore I do not have an overview…Read more

Hi Tom, a new word to me and guess this is related to process mining and our capabilities in data analytics?
-
That’s right Isabel and It’s so so important. First though, processes have to be understood, defined, documented, standardised, and managed. The NHS need to understand how to do this. It’s not the same as Lean! I’ll talk about some of this on my webinar on Wednesday and will be talking about how to do it on my following webinar in…Read more
