Biography

Phil currently leads and delivers the 'Research Methodology for Quality Improvement' taught postgraduate unit at Manchester Metropolitan University [MMU]. The unit introduces QI fundamentals, project design and data analysis to trainees undertaking the MSc Advanced Clinical Practitioner [ACP] apprenticeship, and faciltitates them to design a real-world project for their current place of work. Their projects are then completed over a six-month timeframe with supervisory support from MMU, provided by a range of staff with experience in QI and postgraduate supervision.

Phil and the team train approximately forty-five ACPs per year, with Phil supervising six of their pool of QI projects. Recently we have expanded to provide QI training to students upon other postgraduate courses. We are very open to collaboration and co-production, particularly with healthcare sites across the north-west of England.
