Lunch break
‘when we stop work to eat lunch’
This means no emails, using this time to discuss work related matters, do you and your teams have lunch breaks? or is it eating while you work?

DAD (https://www.liberatingstructures.com/10-discovery-action-dialogue/)
Just to share, had excellent session with colleagues in the third sector this week using DAD to explore compassion fatigue and burnout in the workplace and ideas to address same. In feedback there was consistent messaging around valuing the time to speak to others, learn of…Read more

This is valuable. Thanks for sharing, Hilda. I can see its use in many settings. From your experience was 25-70 min [from the doc guidance] sufficient time?

Hi Alan
Thank you for sharing, I know from my own personal experience I left the NHS not because I wanted to, but because I could not serve people the way I wanted to within that system. I was not the only one. I was told once I cared too much ever to be an effective nurse manager. I guess I do care and yes maybe too much but someone has to.…Read more

Hi Hilda,
Thank for replying and sorry for my delay in responding.
I used to believe my skills were an asset to the NHS, I am able to see the pain in others and guide them on their journeys. The trouble is caring can be exhausting in this system. There’s pressure coming at it from every direction. I’ve started looking at how social det…Read more -
Hi Alan
I hope all is well. This is why being a member of Q is important to me as we have so much wisdom in the community that working together I think we can find ways to address the many challenges facing us, sometimes one step at a time, but there is such diversity of steps being taken within the community that maybe we are further on than we…Read more
