If everyone in the NHS saved £1 a week by cutting waste (procurement, reducing unnecessary expenditure, saving resources, waste disposal etc) there would be £70M/year for direct patient care (for example 2000 Band 5 nurses). The premise is that EVERYONE does their bit/has their own ideas about how they can save THEIR pound in THEIR environment.
