    CALLING ALL CHANGE AGENTS!
I’m leading the collation of changes that have been made within the Allied health professions in response to COVID. Essentially looking for a really brief summary that captures what the change was, what difference it made, and whether there is anything needed to ‘lock it in’ so it becomes business as usual if it’s been a positive change. Data would be great but not essential. Could I make a plea to all of you in this group, whom I’m expecting will have been involved in making change happen as part of COVID19, to contribute to the discussion? If everyone offered one example each that would be so powerful. It’s being captured on the AHP COVID19 Response Forum, you need a log-in but it’s simple to get from magortu.margai@nhs.net.

I’m hopeful to get a flood of input this week – thank you so much in advance to this community of AHPs for making sure our work is captured in the national spotlight and we get the help we need to ensure we can continue with what’s worked well for us and our colleagues. Any queries please drop me a line at caroline.poole4@nhs.net. HUGE THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

    • Great request Caroline. I wonder if it would also be useful to capture the ‘how’ as well as the ‘what’ and why this has been possible now? Context is so important in supporting spread and adoption and I heard again yesterday how it’s often not radically new things that have been implemented over the past 8-10 weeks but rather that mindsets and behaviour changes have enabled existing innovations to be rapidly implemented more widely. Perhaps looking at how we can nurture and sustain the mindset and behaviour changes will be equally as important?

      • That’s a great idea Karen – on the platform we’ve tried to make it as easy as possible for people to share, and I fully agree with your points, so many changes will be cultural and related to leadership, influence, and increased appetite to drive change quickly – all such important aspects to be captured – thank you for the prompts.

So, I guess my call-out is not just to focus on changes in clinical service delivery but also to include team working, leadership, culture, ability to influence…..and there will be so much more as well.
