About this group
We strive to provide high quality, safe care whilst operating in a complex environment, facing considerable uncertainty on a daily basis. The degree of volatility, complexity, uncertainty and ambiguity is increasing and yet the system must always be capable of dealing with acute shocks and chronic stresses. It is critical that we seek new ways of addressing this challenge by building organisations that deliver resilient performance and address safety by focussing on what goes right as well as what goes wrong.
This SIG will provide a space in which to share our experiences of these issues, explore the state-of-the-art in resilience/ Safety-II theory and build a knowledge base of practical solutions/ adaptations/ innovations addressing this challenge.
