I have worked in the health service for over 21 years and been involved in a range of service improvement projects. From 2008-2013, I was a Project Manager for 4 cross-border health and wellbeing projects. I used PRINCE methodology to implement and manage the roll-out of the programmes. As Project Manager, I was responsible for the implementation of the projects within the specified quality and financial constraints, recruiting and managing staff, developing and maintaining networks and stakeholder engagement from across key statutory, public, voluntary and community sectors. From 2013-2015, I held the post of Clinical Network Co-ordinator with the NI Cancer Network. This involved working with clinical colleagues to develop guidelines, policies and procedures to improve the quality of care of patients throughout their cancer journey and to develop, agree and monitor implementation of work programmes. This work was aligned to recognised best practice guidelines and strategic priorities for service improvement.
From 2015 to present day, I have held the post of Macmillan Cancer Service Improvement Lead for the Southern Health Trust to support the cancer reform programme to a range of cancer sites and developing the support and education that all cancer patients receive throughout their cancer journey.
