Jonathan specialises in evaluation and improvement methodologies in UK and international contexts. He is an expert researcher, evaluator and trainer with a deep understanding of research and delivery systems across health economies. He focuses on improving outcomes for those in need by ensuring evidence and improvement efforts are effective, relevant and practical.
He has experience of improvement and applied research in healthcare in the UK in the global South, including work in Malawi and Brazil, and is a Portuguese speaker. He developed the Chole-QuIC programme and has led four rounds of the collaborative for the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
In addition to his work at the RCPCH on QI and patient safety in child health, he is the qualitative research lead on two UCL led health technology trails, AlcoChange and CirrhoCare.
He is a father of three and co-founder of a capoeira group - Bambinhos Capoeira.
