Carol Sinnott is a NIHR Clinical Lecturer in General Practice at THIS Institute, where her research examines complex care in general practice settings, and interventions to improve the quality of general practice care. Her research has been funded by a variety of bodies including the Health Research Board of Ireland, Irish College of General Practitioners, the Irish Research Council and the Academy of Medical Sciences UK.
Carol holds a PhD from University College Cork, and was the first National Academic Research Fellow in General Practice in Ireland. She has been awarded the Early Career Researcher Award from the Society for Social Medicine UK, and the Sheppard Memorial Prize from the Royal College of General Practitioners’. She is a practicing GP in Cambridge, and Specialty Lead for Health Services Research in the Eastern Clinical Research Network. She is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners, the Royal College of General Practitioners, and the Society for Academic Primary Care.
