I became a Primary Care Antimicrobial Pharmacist in 2015 – the first role of its kind in Wales. This involved me being the project lead for the Antimicrobial Resistance Pacesetter Project in the North Cluster of Bridgend. Part of this project required me to develop and deliver a number of public facing campaigns and educational videos. The latter of which has been viewed over 26,000 times on social media: https://youtu.be/P8ikgCwsjNE. Prior to this, I was a community pharmacist with 9 years of branch manager experience.
I sit on the All Wales Antimicrobial Pharmacist Group and Antimicrobial Resistance Implementation Group, in addition to being a NICE committee member for the development of Management of Common Infections prescribing guidance. I am the founder of Supporting Wales with Antibiotics in Primary Care (SWAP) which is aimed at helping cluster pharmacists embed antibiotic stewardship into every cluster in Wales.
I am a Non-Medical Independent Prescriber, specialising in infective illness of the ear, throat and urinary tract.
