Alison Butler, BSc (Hons) is a podiatrist by background with a 30 year career in the NHS as a clinician, a manager of community and in-patient services, and as a commissioner of NHS, local authority and third sector services.
She joined Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) in 2011, leading a team to develop trustwide redesign and transformation programmes to improve services and patient safety. In November 2017 she began the role of QI Programme Director, leading the development of CNWL’s Quality Improvement Programme. In 2022 she became the Director of Improvement at CNWL. She has been trained by IHI in the science of improvement, and is an Improvement Coach and an Improvement Advisor.
She has a particular interest in supporting staff on their QI journey and involving service users and carers in QI projects.
