Make sure you join our next monthly webinar on  29 October 1pm-2pm

This month we are focusing on the development of CAN-EMPOWER – The CANcer Emotional and Psychological Oncology Well-being project

The aim of the CAN-EMPOWER project was to develop a freely available, evidence-based digital resource to enhance confidence to manage psychological problems/well-being for people living with and beyond cancer.

In the webinar we will discuss the development of the resource  informed by the by the Person Based Approach (Yardley et al 2015). This approach is an iterative set of methods to develop interventions that people will find easy to use and engaging, by embedding input from people likely to use the resource throughout all of the research. People with lived experience of cancer and a range of health professionals were involved in the development.

The project consisted of two work packages. Work package one brought together primary and secondary evidence to identify components and content of the online resource. Work package two refined the intervention through iterative user testing to ensure it is user friendly and appealing. We anticipate that the intervention will complement current practice with professionals signposting the resource and using the activities with patients to support current service provision.

We will present the completed intervention, underpinning evidence and some ideas for implementation and look forward to discussion about how webinar attendees think this will align with current practice and suggestions for implementation.
