    Contracting / Setting ground rules as a QI Coach – would anyone be interested in co-facilitating a session on this SIG?

    Hi all – keen to explore different approaches to support QI coaches with explaining their role, setting ground rules, agreeing ways of working etc. i.e. contracting. It’s something we all do to varying degrees and it’s a common topic people want to learn more about. 

    I’d like to run a session within this SIG on “how to contract” – showcasing a few different ways to do this. Would anyone be up for running this with me? Would anyone be interested in joining as a participant?

      Dear Sid,
      I am the QI coach at LWNHUT. In this role for the last 2.5 yrs I have “coached” the trust transformation fellows, taught on some of our QI training programme acted as informal advisor to our CI lead
      I dont have a formal “coaching” qulification and have had a few 1-2 day courses. So I wouldnt call myself a coach. I probably have a hybrid role of coach, mentor and subject expert merged into 1.

      I suspect that you have other who could support your aims far better than me, but if needed I would be happy to get involved and support this work and share some of my experiences and what I have learnt and the challenges I still face

      Hi Sid, I would be happy to support – either sharing what we do at HHFT for QI Coach contracting or sharing experiences, or attending as a participant – whatever is most helpful.

      Thanks Charles and Clare. I think it’s important to reflect our different experiences – there’s no set definition or way of being a coach – I just thought it would be nice to do a bit of sharing and then have a discussion within the SIG. I’ll drop you both an email now.
