How do you make a start at learning how to design an NHS Service? On a recent Q webinar one of the speakers said that one of the problems in the NHS is that the plane has taken off before the design is finished and further design is difficult when the plane is already in the air – or words to that effect. I thought that this was a very good point. My response was to recommend a reverse engineering exercise. Without all the funfair of a QI Project this can be undertaken fairly informally but nevertheless can be a very good learning exercise to undertake within your work team.
