Case Clinic: How to produce an effective evaluation of a Systems Convening team (18 June, 4pm)

    Hi all,

The Systems Convening Community of Practice’s steering group had a meeting last week – with some great ideas and wide-ranging discussion.

Abby Hauver (Hackney) and I have pulled out one of the Evaluating Impact subgroup-related ideas to do in a meeting next week: ‘Case Clinic: How to produce an effective evaluation of a Systems Convening team’ (18 June, 4pm).

(Another possible session idea that has just come up is discussing how to use the Wenger-Trayners’ ‘Value Creation Framework’ to understand the impact of Systems Convening work, and also comparing it to the ‘Learning Cycles’ in the Human Learning Systems approach. Please let me know if this is potentially of interest to you).

Mandy Westcott also suggested in our steering group meeting that a Systems Convening book-club might be enjoyable (I agree!) – and it could build on the rewarding book-chat that Su Smith and I organised a little while back.

Case Clinic: How to produce an effective evaluation of a Systems Convening team (18 June, 4pm)

This session will focus on helping with a challenge being brought by two organisations: producing impact evaluations of their Systems Convening teams. (The organisations are Hackney Council, and the Q Community of health and care improvers).

    Please register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEud-2ppjgvH9ACF0vCfTayjywC6uKz4vk8

The aim of the session is to offer help with their challenge – through participants sharing their own related experiences and stories, and giving their advice to help with this evaluation challenge (as well as discussing the advice that others give).

Basically, an opportunity for us all to struggle together with the challenge of good evaluation, which needs to be both authoritative and effective for our organisations, but also authentic in the sense of understanding the real work of Systems Conveners and its importance.

The session is organised by the Evaluating Impact sub-group of the Systems Convening Community of Practice.
