Hi all.
Looking for thoughts/suggestions on measurement of improvements in the quality of life of disabled people following certain implementations, changes, projects etc.
Context is Ireland, Social Care, working in Health Service Executive, national QI team for Disabilities, to include people in community based residential support settings as well as those living in own home with/without professional supports.
Thanks.

Hi Ronan, here are a couple of things you might be interested in. These were developed as part of supporting adults/older people to become more active for improved quality of life. The information could be applicable to the group you are working with . Here’s a personal improvement record, where the person defines and tracks their own improvement https://hub.careinspectorate.com/media/5262/capa-personal-moving-more-improvement-record-pocket-guide-master-a3_june-2023.pdf.
Also a 3 min video of Lynn, whose life improved (measurements such as pain medication and wheelchair use are mentioned) dramatically as a result of staff promoting more movement https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqMcgw8fL9k.
I also have other ideas/resources if any of this is of of interest, including specific measurements.
Thanks Louise, great video. Love the simplicity of the ideas, start small with one simple thing etc. I’m particularly interested in qualitative information gathering, especially around psychological/emotional wellbeing. Have you any formal tools in those areas that you can point me towards?
I’ve sent a direct message Ronan
Does it have to be in the Irish context specifically? If so, perhaps @maureen-alice-flynn or @noemipalacios know somebody?
No @joriamramos not Ireland specifically. I was just letting people know that I was based in Ireland. Happy to be advised internationalyl!
Thank you! 🙂
