    Great presenting 3 CHA Innovation and Best Practice Audits to teams at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust this week.

     

    Introduction of a Health Care Support Worker education and development team

    Judges said:

    “This initiative gives voice and value to the Health Care Support workers who are the bedrock of care within Community Hospitals and Community Teams. By introducing the HCSW Education & Development team we can clearly see how positively this has impacted upon confidence to learn new skills, improved patient care and job satisfaction leading to higher levels of staff recruitment and retention.”

    Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration roll out and Careflow Medicines Management Integration

    Judges said:

    “Really innovative approach to medicines prescribing including digital, clinicians, pharmacy and the companies providing the systems in use. There was a planned approach unit by unit which allowed a focus on their individual needs as well as ensuring learning displaying a Quality Improvement methodology approach. Targeted education and support as well as using experts as experts with the right person in the right role as part of the team ensured this national must do was delivered in a meaningful, supportive, flexible way where staff felt engaged and listened to. A lived example of collaboration and MDT working at its best. Loved your narrative about how you as a project team talked about the friendships that were formed along the way. “

    Intermediate Care Unit End PJ Paralysis Campaign

    Judges said:

    “This national validated programme was used as part of Covid Recovery to reduce deconditioning within the Intermediate Care Units. There was positive staff engagement, good use of electronic systems to reduce the documentation burden and develop meaningful and long term data collection. It demonstrated the value of an inspirational transformation lead and a commitment to supporting, developing and empowering tam members as well as embedding Quality Improvement methodologies.  Great person-centred problem solving.”
