Hello
I am currently launching training for suicide prevention for primary care teams in Derbyshire – this has involved recruiting 7 GPs including myself and 1 practice nurse who have become Trainers of the Modules created by Connecting with People. They are 1- Suicide Awareness and 2- Suicide Response
The mental health trust is already trained in the same way so this will join up the primary and secondary care teams to use the same approaches and aid communication and collaboration
The community in general has access to Mental Health First Aid Courses

The above is all part of a Derbyshire Suicde Prevention Strategy led by public health and which comprises all the relevant statutory and non-statutory services and based on the National Strategy
Primary Care Training has long been a missing component of the jigsaw and we aim to address this over the next 1-2 years.
