Stefa trained at the Canterbury and Thanet School of nursing. Having qualified she gained some experience in general acute surgical nursing then moved to work in an intensive care setting and as a critical care outreach nurse. Throughout this time she has been involved in and led many improvement projects within local teams, Trust and health economy wide setting.

Since the beginning of 2010 Stefa has worked in patient safety and currently is the Teams Improving Patient Safety (TIPS) Programme Lead at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, which is a seven month work based quality improvement development programme. She is passionate about Quality Improvement and has a special interest in Human Factors.
