Over my career, I have had a number of roles. These initially focused in the profession of Human Resources, with a staffing role at Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, where I recruited and provided zero hours nurses to the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities units across Northamptonshire.
In my HR roles I was predominately focused in the employee relations discipline, with additional focused HR projects relating to policy creation, recruitment, payroll and process development. During my time with the University of Bedfordshire, I had two focal points. Initially I was recruited to design and implement a new pay structure for the entire University. This involved working with staff, unions and several support functions to take the project from the initial direction to full implementation. I then moved to support the transfer of the Bedford campus from De Montfort University to the University of Bedfordshire. This required working with staff and unions and adherence to TUPE requirements.
Once I moved away from the HR profession, I took roles that saw me work with staff and commissioners on service improvement and innovation. This included the implementation of several innovative service delivery schemes, modifications to the physical operating environment of the Control Centre.
My most recent role sees me working with Police and Fire to work more closely together to secure more efficient services at a lower cost. The main focus is the bringing together of Ambulance stations with those of Police and Fire. This programme of work is worth many millions of pounds and involved project management skills, significant stakeholder engagement, financial management and work with Directors and Executives of both the Ambulance Service and Police and Fire for the entire East Midlands.
During my time with the Ambulance Service, I also took on a secondment with the Leadership Academy where I planned, organised and delivered a 7-day innovation programme for staff from the NHS in Lincolnshire.
