I am a passionate believer in grass-roots/front line bottom up approaches to quality improvement for patient safety.
Currently I am involved in and would love any insight into:
1. Addressing the weekend medical handover within the Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust through implementation of standardised handovers supported through verbal meetings and an electronic platform.
2. Supporting doctors with continuing professional development logging amidst clinical demand, with our foundation doctor ePortfolio companion app.
My highlight Q experience has so far been completing an Audit cycle within the North Lincolnshire & Goole Foundation Trust against NICE intravenous fluid guidance (CG174), which achieved a trust wide acceptance and led to a poster presentation at the BMJ Quality and Safety in Healthcare Forum 2016.
