Biography

I qualified as a registered nurse in September 1984 and worked within the field of intensive care. In 2000 I set up the Critical Care Outreach Team at Salisbury District Hospital and became the Nurse Consultant in Critical Care in 2001.

I have been involved with national patient safety programmes including:

Leading Improvements in Patient Safety in 2007
NHS South West Quality and Patient Safety Improvement Programme in 2009
Wessex Patient Safety Collaborative – Sepsis workstream in 2015
Wessex Patient Safety Collaborative - Patient deterioration in 2017

I am a member of the Trust’s Safety Steering Group and Clinical Risk Group and sit on the National Patient Safety Advisory Panel. In July 2018 I took up the post of Quality Improvement Matron at Salisbury and am currently leading the NEWS2 implementation project.
