Good Morning Everyone, I hope your week is going well. I’m really excited to share the below link to Surgery Hero’s publication in the BMJ Open Quality. Its based on our work with the South Tees Prepwell team for elective lower limb arthroplasty. Please see the publication here and if there are any comments or questions please email me and we can chat- chloe.pulo@surgeryhero.com

Thank you and have a fabulous Friday!

    • Many thanks Chloe for posting this published study.

There is definitely a need, in my mind at least, for an expansion of digital resources to support, motivate and encourage prehab patients as they line up patiently for their ‘turn’. And, dare I say it, for properly explained and understood AI solutions as well (puts in hard hat incase of incoming comments!).

The study supports data that shows a reduction in hospital stay time, is certainly cost saving (£273) and is liked by patients (9/10 is better than most restaurant reviews!).

I appreciate that the sample size was very focused and I would be interested in how the team could upsize this to a group of high complexity/ high risk patient groups, who often start from a much lower level of fitness and exercise.

Really enjoyed reading this and wish you every success taking this to the next level

      • Thank you very much Lawrence. Have you seen our poster from EBPOM last year? This focused on patients with a 10% and above risk of respiratory complication and was carried out across all intermediate to major grade surgeries at Cheshire and Merseyside ICS. I’m happy to share to the group if you haven’t seen it…

    • Hope you are well Chloe.
Yes, I remember reading the poster at EBPOM.
Love the work the team are doing with iPREPWELL. Very inspiring
      Keep well
      Lawrence

    • Thank you Lawrence and you take care too! No doubt I’ll see you at some point at an event.
