Interested in learning more about strengths-based, community-oriented approaches to healthcare challenges?

On Thursday June 13th @12:30-13:30 the Allied Health Professions in QI SIG is hosting a lunch’n’learn session on Community Appointment Days with speakers Laura Finucane and Adam Lent.

Laura Finucane is a consultant Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist at a Sussex NHS physio practice that were facing long waiting lists full of people with complex conditions – and staff feeling disconnected and stuck on a hamster-wheel. They decided to try a radical new approach and organised a series of Community Appointment Day (CAD) events and successfully cut waiting times by a third.

In this session Laura share the story of how and why they did this. There’ll be an opportunity to ask her questions as well.

Adam Lent, Senior Consultant at The King’s Fund, will also join us to talk about other health services trying similar innovations and how it might be possible to spread these strengths-based, community-oriented approaches.
